I must say I am in a pretty good mood. It has always been my practice to write newsletters with a nice bottle of wine. This time it is the 07 Tempranillo. I feel rested and relaxed after my vacation to Brazil. I know what you are thinking, how nice Brazil, and you would be correct. My wife and daughter stayed down for a few extra weeks with family. So I am also pleased to have them home. My daughter changes so quickly at this age. If I blink I miss so much.
It is the same with our wines. That is why I am happy after visiting our barrel room earlier this afternoon. The wines are blossoming and becoming beautifully complex. If you would like to catch up with our wines there are plenty of exciting events coming up over the next few months.

The first weekend in December marks winter barrel tasting. It was a beautiful weekend. A bit cold, I might say, but all in all a good weekend. We had quite a few visitors from all over to enjoy our winery as well as enjoy the wine. Winemaker "Ryan" was barrel tasting the 2008 Tempranillo. We will be bottling this some time during late winter. It is sure nice to meet all the wonderful people who stop by. I didn't realize having a winery would be so much fun!
Now that we are done with winter barrel tasting things will slow down . Guess it is time to celebrate Christmas and welcome in the new year! We hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season.

Saturday November 7, 2009 marked our Grand Opening at Castillo de Feliciana Vineyard and Winery. We had over 300 people attend our opening. You should have seen the parking lot! Cars were lined out the gate! Deb and I were "Blown away" by the attendance. Many of our friends from the west side of the mountains came by to join us as well as many people from the Walla Walla area. It was so exciting to see people just come through the door and really really like what they saw. We had a Flamenco Guitarist provide the music for us throughout the day. Antonio was a hit! For those who were hungry an assortment of Spanish Tappas were prepared and served. Everyone thought they were delicioso!
