We are pleased to introduce to you Katie our newest addition to Castillo de Feliciana Winery. Katie comes to us from Ellensburg where she graduated with a four year degree in Wine Sciences. She will be our Tasting room Manager. She is also experienced in wine making. She obtained her associates degree from the Walla Walla School of Viteculture and Enology. We hope to use her nose and taste buds to help us create some beautiful wines.
We would also like to introduce you to Chris Castillo! Our son. He recently applied and has been accepted to the Walla Walla School of Viteculture and Enology. We are so happy that he has chosen this path. We will be looking forward to his wine making skills. He will be putting in some hours at the winery

Not a bad winter! That's about all i can say. Our vineyards were spared that bitter cold that sometimes takes a vine or two away from us but fortunately not this year. Yesterday was the first day of spring and we are definately welcoming it! Over the winter we acquired our new bottling system and put it to work just last weekend. We managed to do over 700 cases in just two days. We had a great time! Thank you Ryan, Sergio, Nora, Erassmo, and Deb for your hard work. We bottles our 2009 Pinot Grigio, and our non-vintage Tempranillo. They will be ready for spring release in May. Also over the winter we have been looking at other equipment to compliment our winery processing area.

I must say I am in a pretty good mood. It has always been my practice to write newsletters with a nice bottle of wine. This time it is the 07 Tempranillo. I feel rested and relaxed after my vacation to Brazil. I know what you are thinking, how nice Brazil, and you would be correct. My wife and daughter stayed down for a few extra weeks with family. So I am also pleased to have them home. My daughter changes so quickly at this age. If I blink I miss so much.
It is the same with our wines. That is why I am happy after visiting our barrel room earlier this afternoon. The wines are blossoming and becoming beautifully complex. If you would like to catch up with our wines there are plenty of exciting events coming up over the next few months.
